Vending Machinery

Vending Machinery
As the handwritten sign says, you cannot eat food while it is still frozen.

One thing I love about Japan is that you never need to bring beverages along with you, because a vending machine will be near by, no matter where you go. Unlike in Germany where drinks from machines are outrageously pricey for no apparent reason, the vending machines in Japan sell drinks at nearly the same price as the supermarket.

But beverages are not all, you can find in Japanese vending machines. There is frozen food, cloth handkerchiefs, neckties, phone numbers of girls (it's some sort of a dating service, not prostitution), toys, board games and I don't know what you can't get from a vending machine.

The first machine I saw in Japan. It is on the platform of the Kyoto airport train station. You can pay cash, where coins from 10 yen up to 500 yen and 1000 yen notes are accepted. Or you can pay with an IC card a payment system for public transport.
This machine is the regular type, but it has special offers. Drinks are starting from 100 yen.
Want a Pikachu keychain, a minion or some tacky toy cheeseburger? Do not despair! You can buy them 24/7.
A vending machine dedicated to toy food.
High availability by redundancy.
This nifty specimen is money exchanger and detergent vending machine in one. It is located adjacent to a row of washing machines in an apartment building in Shinjuku Tokyo.
A glimpse into the inside of a beverage vending machine as it is being restocked.
Obviously, this sales offer at the station is so self-evident that it doesn't even say what it is. My guess is cloth handkerchiefs. An accessory that almost every Japanese person carries with them all the time. A good thing to do, as public restrooms usually provide water and soap, but no paper towels.
All kinds of food at an affordable price. I guess they are all instant dishes, but I am really not sure about it.

Some more (i)

This one has even sashimi. I hope it gets restocked in a high frequency. Fresh fish from yesterday would be a bit too Automatix-like.
If you are in need of an umbrella, you should better be at this subway station. If seen many, but this was the only one with an umbrella vending machine.
This one has rather high level convenience food. Look at the neat parcel twines around some of the packages. You draw out all courses you desire and then put the bags into boiling water for the time indicated on the package. Some can also be microwaved.
